Director of Construction Services - Special Projects Division


Kevin has over fourteen years of construction services experience including: estimating; contracts management; constructability reviews; preparation of technical proposals; development, demonstration, and training of personnel in the use of project management computer systems; lump sum and guaranteed maximum price bid preparation and submission for both the government and private sectors; scheduling; budgeting and aiding in the development of value engineered cost savings solutions. 

Kevin has over thirteen years of concurrent project management experience within the construction industry.  He started as an Assistant Project Manager and within two years was promoted to Project Manager.  As a Project Manager, Kevin was responsible for a multitude of projects ranging in value from $100,000 to over $70 million totaling in excess of $100 million for adherence to schedules and budgets, owner satisfaction, personnel performance, compliance with company policies and procedures, and quality control.

 He served as Senior Project Manager on the $60M modernization of the Internal Revenue Service Headquarters Building and the $75M phase II modernization of the Supreme Court of the United States. Kevin possesses superior skills in team building, communications, decision-making, and problem solving.

 As Director of Construction Services for the Special Projects Division of Grunley Construction Kevin is responsible for managing all of the tasks conceived of as ‘preconstruction’ activities, estimating, purchasing, contracts, value engineering, and design-build construction services.  These construction services also include the procurement, management, and administration of Building Information Modeling and Laser Scanning services associated with our Special Projects Division design-build and renovation projects.  In addition Kevin aides in the development and establishment of means and methods of project controls, management systems, forms, standardization of procedures and preliminary scheduling activities as well as with any other global systems needs that the division requires.  Since its inception at the end of the first quart of 2007 the Special Projects Division of Grunley Construction has won over 70 projects and task orders ranging in size from $ 10,000 to $ 16.4 million with total sales over $ 100,000,000.
